Richard Whiting, Ph.D. - General Partner
East Coast Office
Richard Whiting is a founding General Partner of DynaFund and is based in DynaFund's East Coast office in Arlington, Virginia. Rich is particularly involved with DynaFund's communications-related investments. His current board memberships include Multibeam, Novalux and Microfabrica and he also oversees DynaFund’s investment in Aviara Dx.
Prior to joining DynaFund, Rich spent eight years managing DTI's corporate venture investment program, including an assignment as the chief operating officer of one of the portfolio companies. Rich was also active in the contract research business of the company; leading technology assessment efforts performed for outside customers. Before joining DTI, Rich also spent 10 years managing technology development programs at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, the U.S. Office of Naval Research and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
Rich earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
